A pan-UK organisation is seeking to hire a Solution Architect to be based out of its prestigious offices is Luton. The main remit of the role will be to help shape new solutions and define the future solution architecture and associated road map.
Responsibilities will include:
- Understanding the strategy and needs of the business
- Evaluating how the current IT environment contributes to (or hinders) the success of the business
- Identifying deficiencies in the existing IT environment and recommending solutions for their improvement
- Socialising the future solution architecture with stakeholders, such as the IT team
- Requirements capture
- Conceptual and detailed solution design
- Acting as the custodian of solution and technical standards and ensuring that they're enforced throughout the lifecycle of the project
- Providing architectural guidance to the project team
- Explaining technical and architectural issues to technical and business stakeholders alike
- Identifying and evaluating potential solution options
- Documenting all work
Skills & Qualifications
- A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field, equivalent experience
- Enterprise and/or Solution Architecture certification very desirable but not essential
- A track record of applying Solution Architecture to deliver business benefit
- Past experience of selecting and implementing IT solutions
- Knowledge of all components of an enterprise technical architecture;
- Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes;
- Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting;
- Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies;
- Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and legacy systems;
- A high level of intellectual integrity with a lack of bias towards any technology or vendor;
