This is a great opportunity to join a growing and successful Insurance business as Syndicate Accountant. The candidate will report directly in to the Senior Syndicate Accountant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the regulatory and management reporting in respect of certain Lloyd's entities in support of Senior Syndicate Accountant.
Key responsibilities
- Filing of all Lloyd's Regulatory returns for Lloyd's Syndicates, including Annual returns, Quarterly returns, US and Canadian Reporting (including schedules F&P), US and Canadian SIS.
- Prepare trial balance, perform LCA reconciliations. Posting of all journals. Management of the SPA quota share bookings. Detailed premium and claim analysis. Work with actuarial to establish data accuracy on reserves.
- Prepare Syndicate Management Accounts
- Assist with planning and production of Syndicate annual report and accounts, management information and financial schedules and monthly and quarterly accounting information, as required.
- Contribute to the development of systems for syndicate reporting
- Assist in the migration of key tasks to syndicate personnel and to monitor the accuracy of this data.
- Liaise with syndicate staff, auditors and actuaries as necessary.
Skills Knowledge and Experience
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent with 0-2 years PQE
- Insurance experience essential
- Lloyds experience would be beneficial
- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles
- Familiarity and experience of Lloyd's reporting requirements e.g. working knowledge of QMA/B/C returns and US/Can Reporting.
- Excel, Vision, Sun Accounts.
