Systems Administrator - £55,000

A growing global organisation in the Leisure space is looking for a Systems Administrator to be based out of its offices in central London.

The role is critical to the management of current business as usual activities, supporting global service desk team with incident resolution and root cause analysis as well as supporting the implementation and operations of the various infrastructure components.

You will advise on technical decisions relating to infrastructure projects, technical solutions, tasks and improvements and will be responsible for creating technical documentation and maintaining infrastructure technology related roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Provide business as usual support to core infrastructure stack - primarily, LAN and WAN connectivity, Active Directory, Virtual Platform, Windows file shares, print and scan services, backups and monitoring.
  • Support escalations from Global Service Desk for investigation and resolution of technical issues
  • Help to ensure the delivery of infrastructure solutions in line with PCI-DSS compliance requirements, including documentation
  • Administration and scripting using MS PowerShell
  • Monitoring daily activities, including Change Requests, Project deliverables and Jira call queue responsibilities
  • Learning and expanding your infrastructure expertise and skillset and mentoring other members of the team
  • Project assignments where you will work closely with other project teams developing new IT solutions based on business requirements, designing and evaluating technical solutions and producing technical support documentation
  • Be part of the global on call rota to provide support to the team outside of core hours.

Essential Skills

  • Graduate-level qualified in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Technical certifications in key infrastructure services and applications (Microsoft, VMware, Cisco)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft PowerShell
  • A good understanding of network technologies to CCNA level including Firewall configuration.
  • A solid IT infrastructure background with prior (and current) experience supporting IT operations
  • A good understanding of the Microsoft datacentre and operations technology stack
  • Experience managing virtual infrastructure incl. VMware and Microsoft
  • Experience of highly available and fault tolerant systems
  • Good communications skills, comfortable with communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience of Azure or AWS cloud services would be desirable but not essential.
