The successful candidate will be part of an established team of tax specialists, providing international tax services to the business. The team are responsible for the timely completion of tax processes annually covering the calculation, filing and payment of VAT and Corporate Taxes in over 30 countries as well dealing with ad hoc queries, tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements, BEPS compliance, tax authority audits and configuration of business systems.

  • The successful candidate will have a mixed role including preparation of Corporate and VAT returns forming part of an assigned portfolio as well as responsibility for reviewing various returns prepared by other members of the team.
  • Depending on the task, activities include, extracting and analysing data from Peoplesoft and other business systems, liaising with other parts of the business, managing engagements with professional advisers, ensuring filings are made in compliance with local laws, and organizing and overseeing tax payments and refunds.
  • Tax accounting activity will involve preparation and review of journals and reconciliations with some involvement in several tax provisions and financial statement disclosures.
  • Dealing effectively and promptly with tax related queries from the business and other stakeholders.
  • With experience, coach and develop junior team members.
  • Assist the Tax Manager and other staff in the team with ad hoc projects such as new branch set ups, software upgrades and monitoring and responding to tax technical changes such as BEPS.

The successful candidate will be a fully or part qualified Tax or Accounting professional (e.g. CTA, ATT, ACCA, ACMA, ACA) with the proven ability to apply technical knowledge in a tax environment. Experience of VAT and Corporate tax is essential. Previous exposure to transfer pricing concepts and documentation requirements would be helpful as would experience of dealing with non UK taxes and foreign tax jurisdictions.
