Specialist accountancy and finance recruiter Marks Sattin has appointed Paul Collier as its new UK & Ireland regional director.

Collier was promoted internally from within Marks Sattin. Previously he worked as Director of Commerce & Industry in London.

He has over 10 ½ years’ experience in accountancy and finance recruitment with Marks Sattin, having joined as part of the graduate scheme in 2001.

As UK & Ireland regional director, Collier will be responsible for Marks Sattin’s operations outside the capital, which have seen their revenues grow 30% on the year and contribute 20% of total revenue. Marks Sattin has offices in Ireland (Dublin and Cork), Reading (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire) Manchester (North West and West Midlands), Chelmsford (Essex, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk), and Leeds (Yorkshire & Humberside, North East England, and the East Midlands). The Leeds office has grown faster than any other offices, doubling their headcount within the last year.

Collier will report into Marks Sattin managing director, Dave Way.

Dave Way, managing director of Marks Sattin said, “Paul’s promotion is great news for Marks Sattin. His track record in managing teams is outstanding –he spearheaded the launch of the Dublin office in 2007 – as is his market knowledge and customer-driven focus, which were all key factors in our decision to put him in charge of this part of the business. His appointment marks the next stage of development for our Regional offices enabling us to become a genuine leading provider across UK & Ireland

In response to client demand, we continue to enhance our geographic spread and this is now central to our growth strategy. We have recently secured new office space in Manchester, Leeds, Reading and Dublin to accommodate the growth plans of each of the offices and we intend to open a new office in Birmingham in 2012.

With our reach across the UK expanding to complement our global offering, we needed to put someone with real stature in charge. Paul fits the bill perfectly.”
