I joined Marks Sattin in April 2010 as a consultant when there were just 3 employees. Working my way up to Senior Consultant, Principal Consultant and Associate Director, I was subsequently appointed Director in 2020, with full responsibility for the Leeds Office. We have a fantastic team of 24 specialist consultants that cover both Interim and Permanent recruitment from transactional staff through to Director level appointments, covering all aspects of Finance.  We cover the full suite of commerce, professional services and private equity.  I am still a hands on recruiter and specialise in FD & CFO Appointments across the Yorkshire region.

 

The people – having spent 10 years with Marks Sattin, it’s the people that sets us apart. All of us have our own unique & personal style and everyone’s opinion is valued, regardless of level within the business. We treat everyone like adults and genuinely care about the wellbeing of our employees, candidates & clients. We want everyone who interacts with Marks Sattin to have a positive experience regardless of whether we are successful in helping someone to further their career directly or indirectly.

 

Having started at the bottom, the whole journey for me has been amazing. Although my responsibilities have broadened, I am still handling FD assignments and looking to build relationships with new clients, just as I was doing 10 years ago – this is really important for me. That being said, one of the proudest moments of my career was being promoted to Director in January 2020.  

 

When I get a chance to relax, it now mainly revolves around my Zola, my cocker spaniel who joined me during Lockdown! This mainly involves getting her to stop chewing the furniture, taking her on walks, and trying to train her to be good – it’s a work in progress!
