Marks Sattin are being retained to recruit a regional Tax Manager (UK, Ireland, Nordics) for our US multinational client in Berkshire.

As Tax Manager you will be responsible for initiating and integrating tax planning opportunities, whilst fulfilling tax payment and reporting obligations. You will monitor the business units' tax issues and assist the business in evaluating the tax implications of activity across the UK, Ireland and Nordics with the objective of maximising tax savings.

From a compliance perspective, duties are limited and will consist mostly of monitoring organisational structures, reviewing annual tax filings and provide income tax data for the company's financial reporting.

Reporting to the overseas-based Tax Director, this role would suit a Big 4 Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director looking to make the move into a regional in-house position, or someone currently in industry wanting a new challenge. I anticipate that anyone currently in-house and finding themselves either too thinly stretched due to lack of resource or wanting to make the move away from a compliance-focused role would find this position to be a great option. It would suit a Big 4 SM or Director due to the corporate tax focus of the role - there (currently) is no indirect or employment tax duties.

US reporting experience isn't a prerequisite but would offer a slight advantage, but knowledge of international tax principles, excellent business acumen, strong analytical and problem solving skills, hands-on, creative, strong presentation skills with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously while managing the UK tax function are all neessary attributes.
