Matthew Wilcox | Managing Director

I am proud to be the Managing Director at Marks Sattin, an organisation with a rich history of unrivalled service to clients and candidates alike for over 30 years. I am responsible for over 100 employees in seven locations across the UK and Ireland. I joined as a business graduate in 2004, and have enjoyed all of my roles in the business prior to this one. I am active in dealing with our growing client portfolio and senior candidate community, and I take pride in the fact that all of our senior management team do the same. We go beyond a standard agency’s recruitment processes and focus on a relationship led, down to earth approach, with quality of service at the heart of what we do, which has stood the test of time.

Tracey Alper | Director, Executive Search in London

I joined Marks Sattin over 20 years ago, and my experience within financial recruitment has seen me develop a great network of clients and candidates across the market who trust in my expertise. My focus is on private-equity backed businesses, recruiting chief financial officers, finance directors and financial controllers. I have enjoyed seeing Marks Sattin grow from a small brand to a market leader, and I am thrilled to have been a part of their journey so far! I enjoy spending time attending market leading events and business meetings at London’s most favoured venues!

Pres Pillai | Director, Commerce & Industry in London

I am Director of the Commerce & Industry division in London, looking after industry specialist teams covering executive, qualified and part qualified, permanent and interim recruitment. Having joined Marks Sattin 15 years ago, I have worked in our temporary and interim division at all levels specialising in capital intensive markets particularly in property, infrastructure and natural resources. I am proud to have the opportunity to contribute to such an amazing business and work with some fantastic people. I take huge satisfaction out of helping colleagues, candidates and clients achieve their goals. Outside of work my wife and I are kept thoroughly busy by our two young boys, and when time allows I enjoy football, basketball, art and an avid fan of film and cinema.

David Harvey | Director, Financial Services in London

Based in London, I am Director of the Financial Services business, delivering search and contingent mandates in the UK, Europe and US across a number of verticals. I am wholly invested in recruitment being a empathetic, professional service; listening to the aspirations of highly talented people and matching them only with businesses I and the team believe share their values. I also contribute to the strategic management of Marks Sattin and Chair the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Outside of the office I enjoy most things outdoors; running, cycling, swimming, hiking or just a dog walk. I am an avid Rugby fan and new to the NFL, in quieter times I enjoy politics, architecture and sci-fiction novels.

Michael Moretti | Associate Director, Technology in London

I’ve been with the company for nine years and head up the London technology, change and transformation division. What I love about Marks Sattin is the collaborative, transparent and team-oriented culture. Never before have I worked with a group of individuals that genuinely care about the company and who proactively work together to help each other succeed. On a personable level I am most proud of the work my team has put in and continues to do to build the tech and change brand. We have created a service that both candidates and clients recognise as being refreshingly different to other agencies they use. Besides recruitment, my other passions are cooking and keeping my teenage children in line!

Paul Roche | Associate Director, Financial Services in London

I’m the Associate Director for the London financial services division and joined the Marks Sattin team 13 years ago.  I personally focus on placing accountants on an interim or contract basis across a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to  private equity, banking, insurance and fintech, I also have full responsibility for our regulatory, risk, compliance and internal audit teams. We have a very enjoyable work life environment with great personalities and we always have fun along the way. The company is great at celebrating successes and I really appreciate that. In my spare time I am enthusiastic about sports, especially horse racing and I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. You’ll usually find me out and about the city networking, meeting clients and candidates or in our London office supporting our fantastic team of experienced consultants.

I have worked at Marks Sattin for over 12 years across both part-qualified and qualified teams within our commerce & industry division. I am an Associate Director overseeing our permanent teams. My clients have consisted mostly of consumer businesses, but I also have a network within the TMT and Property (mainly retail property) space.

Alastair Paterson | Director, Thames Valley & Surrey

I joined Marks Sattin in 2006 and I currently lead the Thames Valley & Surrey businesses. I’m lucky to have worked across every division in the business, which gives me a strong understanding of multiple industries and service lines. I believe the longevity of the people working within the business and opportunity to grow service lines and locations make us truly unique. My 10 year anniversary was a huge milestone, however I’ll be hitting 15 years continual service in 2021 which is testament to the opportunities afforded to me. My family are vitally important to my wellbeing, if they are happy then I am happy. When I do get ‘free pass’, I will be on my peloton, watching sport or desperately trying to improve my golf swing.

Becky Hughes | Director, Manchester & Birmingham

I joined Marks Sattin in February 2015, I am the Director for Manchester and Birmingham Offices and work with a fantastic group of specialist consultants across both locations.  I work with a great team and am still a hands on recruiter, specialising in the qualified market looking at senior management, controllers and finance directors. Marks Sattin is a fantastic organisation and I thoroughly enjoy my time here, we definitely stand out from the crowd, both internally and externally.  Our teams work closely and we support one another. My passions in life are Manchester City Football Club, where I have been a season ticket holder since 2003 and my beloved Field Cocker Spaniel called Dinho (named after Fernandinho a Man City legend) - I would be lost without either of them!

Mark Higgs | Associate Director, Birmingham

I joined Marks Sattin in 2017 to expand the Midlands offering and I am now the Associate Director for the region and responsible for a team of specialist consultants. The development and success of the Birmingham team has been my most significant career milestone to date. Having previously worked in both boutique and corporate organisations, Marks Sattin represents the best of both worlds; a consultative and boutique approach that's collaborative, fun and rewarding, where everyone has the opportunity to contribute towards success and be recognised. In my downtime I enjoy spending time with my friends and family or walking my pug and french bulldog (Chase and Rio) in one of many parks in Birmingham.

Rafi Davies | Director, Leeds

I joined Marks Sattin in April 2010 as a consultant, and after 10 years in 2020 I was appointed Director with full responsibility for the Leeds Office. This was definitely a highlight of my career thus far! We have a fantastic team of 12 specialist consultants, and I believe it’s our people who really set us apart. I am still a hands on recruiter and specialise in FD & CFO appointments across the Yorkshire region. I work closely with my team and am still handling FD assignments and looking to build relationships with new clients, just as I was doing 10 years ago – this is really important for me. In my own time I enjoy taking Zola, my cocker spaniel who joined me during Lockdown, on walks, and trying to train her to be good – it’s a work in progress!

Originally from Ireland, I moved to the UK for what was supposed to be a couple of years, however now London is definitely my second home! I lead a team who are passionate about consistently evolving our brand – from internal comms and employee engagement, through to content and our digital strategy - so that we can offer the best service to our business network.

Matthew Fitzpatrick | Executive Director, Dublin

I joined the Marks Sattin fold in September 2019 to head up the Irish operation in Dublin, having previously worked for the business in Australia and the UK earlier in my career. I enjoy focusing on developing and delivering a high quality service to both our clients and candidates, we set the bar high, overachieving by delivering exceptional performance. In Dublin we're building a sustainable and people orientated business, one focused on honesty, opportunity, performance and environment. Outside of work, family and sport are a constant, with three small kids to keep myself and my wife busy. I am always happy to have a chat over coffee, be that in person or virtual!
