Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent contract.

As the Assistant Accountant you will support the company's accounting department with their day to day functions by carrying out entry-level accounting duties such as reconciling accounts, managing payroll and preparing financial reports.
Responsibilities:

  • Updating and reconciling financial ledgers.
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets for the company.
  • Preparing financial documents such as purchase orders and bank statements.
  • Verifying company expenses, bank deposits and bank payments.
  • Reporting discrepancies, mistakes or potential fraud to senior management.
  • Complying with financial laws and regulations alongside in-house policies.
  • Researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion.
  • Process payments accurately on the bank - working in various currencies.
  • Assistant the Finance Manager with month end duties, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation.
  • Monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Credit Control.
  • Managing Payroll.


Requirements:

  • Have similar experience in a previous role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills and in-depth knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles.
  • In-depth understanding of analytics.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, such as Xero or QuickBooks.
