I'm working with a PE backed, profit making, FCA regulated Financial Services organisation, looking to hire a Lead Commercial Counsel to lead their In-House Legal Team. They are a growing and established company looking to take their offering to the next level. My client provides loans and credit cards to individuals overlooked by certain lenders.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts (including vendor agreements, client agreements, and employment contracts). You will also be involved in providing legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual matters.
  • Advising the company on any compliance and regulatory issues affecting them and providing training where necessary.
  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders including finance, commercial, compliance etc.
  • Company secretarial duties including organising board meetings, preparing agendas and advising the board.

As part of the role, you will be leading a small but high-performing legal team and working with an ambitious senior leadership group. If you love working in a fast-paced environment where your impact is visible and every day is different, then this could be for you!

This role is appropriate for 6+ PQE E & W Private Practice trained Lawyers (with In-House experience), that has worked in a sole counsel capacity, possessing commercial contracts experience, with the ability to assess and advise on legal risk.
