The Role: Legal Counsel



The Client: Specialist Bank



The Location: London or Kent



A fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborative Legal & Governance team within an impressive financial services group. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented lawyer to gain broad in-house exposure and play a key role advising the business on mortgages, real estate, and wider banking matters.



The Role:

  • Advising the Business on all regulations (and changes in regulation) in relation to Residential, Buy-to-let and Mortgage laws
  • Working on general real estate & secured lending matters
  • Drafting product terms and other documentation
  • Troubleshooting for all legal and operational issues with other business teams
  • Assisting the Group General Counsel, Group Heads of Legal & Company Secretary with other legal matters whereby appropriate



Prior Experience:

  • 0- 3 years PQE England and Wales Qualified Lawyer
  • Experience working on either retail banking, property/real estate, mortgages and mortgage security or banking regulatory matters within Private Practice or In-House
  • An understanding of the laws and regulations surrounding retail mortgage lending is a must
