Start your job searchMarks Sattin are currently working with a well-established Lloyds Syndicate who are searching for a Senior Accountant to join their team in London. Our client provides insurance products from property, energy production to cyber and livestock insurance services.
This role will report to the Finance Manager and will take the lead in the monthy US GAAP and annual UK GAAP reporting process.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day financial accounting, reporting and controls in accordance with internal and external deadlines.
- Prepare the monthly UK & US GAAP management accounts.
- Produce monthly stand alone and consolidated reporting packs for Group, including evidence of control and reconciliations.
- Ensure controls are effective and reviewed in a timely manner.
- Ensure excellent communication is maintained with external advisors, (e.g. tax advisors, investment providers etc.).
- Prepare annual statutory financial statements under UK GAAP across multiple entities.
- Assist in the development of improved accounting and reporting processes.
- Involvement in other finance team projects and ad hoc requests as required.
Experience / Qualifications
- Qualified accountant with recognised body (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with minimum 2 years post qualification experience.
- Knowledge of insurance accounting essential, ideally within the Lloyd's or London Market insurance market.
- Experience of US GAAP, consolidation reporting and investment accounting highly desirable.
