VAT Manager | London | £75,000 + Bonus + Benefits

An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, advisory-led professional services firm, recognised for its culture, people-first approach, and commitment to delivering high-quality client solutions. With significant recent investment, the business continues to strengthen its market position and is now looking to appoint an experienced VAT Manager into its established Tax team.

This role offers exposure to complex advisory work, senior client engagement, and the opportunity to shape and grow a dynamic VAT offering within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

Reporting to the VAT Director, you will act as the primary point of contact for a varied client portfolio, leading on technical VAT matters while managing and developing junior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the lead VAT advisor for a diverse client portfolio
• Managing complex VAT advisory and technical matters
• Handling HMRC enquiries, disputes, and negotiations
• Reviewing VAT compliance work and maintaining high technical standards
• Identifying risks, opportunities, and value-added advisory solutions
• Supporting business development and cross-team collaboration
• Leading, mentoring, and developing junior team members
• Contributing to continuous improvement of VAT processes and technical capability

About You

• Strong technical experience in UK VAT, gained within practice or a specialist tax environment
• CTA, legal qualification, or qualified by experience
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead advisory engagements
• Commercial mindset with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
