As our new finance manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the finance department operations. The role is quite a hands-on role, and requires experience in managing staff to provide leadership and improve processes when necessary.

About your new role as Finance Manager at Hemingways in Ripon (hybrid)

      • Manage the daily finance team functions, including credit control, banking and cashbook reconciliations, purchase ledger and sales invoice processing
      • Prepare monthly management accounts packs for review by directors, including commercial commentary on material variances
      • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
      • Prepare quarterly VAT returns
      • Staff management of six and working closely with FD on optimising finance dept structure to align with company growth
      • Liaising with external auditors on year end audit process
      • Communicating with all stakeholders, including key retail suppliers, on commercial queries when necessary
      • Provide or assist in producing value added finance information on an ad-hoc basis
      • Collaborate with the commercial accountant to provide commercial finance insight
    • To be successfully considered for this exceptional role at Hemingways in Ripon, you must be a commercially aware Finance Manager with an accountancy qualification (ACCA / ACA / CIMA). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proven experience managing a team.

      Ideally, you will have experience working in ecommerce or similar, but this is not a deal-breaker.
