An Overview of the Graduate Recruitment Assessment Centre
On Wednesday 11th April we hosted a Graduate Recruitment Assessment Centre where we invited 15 undergraduates to spend the day with us at our London office. This day was designed to give our invited graduates a glimpse into the world of recruitment and an introduction to Marks Sattin as a company. With the current job market we’re finding that more graduates are looking to secure a role before they have even left university. Our end goal in holding assessment centres is to ultimately secure some of this top emerging talent, so it was key for us to put on a really explanatory and collaborative day.
We kicked off with introductions from both the Marks Sattin team involved and the graduates themselves. Simon the Operational Director gave an informative presentation on what it would be like to work at Marks Sattin which was followed by a teamwork exercise where each team was required sell a light hearted gadget, ‘Dragons Den’ style, to the rest of the room. Each team gave it their all and when it came to delivery, the standard was really high. Just before heading to lunch the graduates had the chance to hear a few words from our Managing Director, Matt, who joined Marks Sattin as a graduate himself. To end off the day we organised some speed interviews with managers from different divisions, which gave the graduates a great opportunity to set themselves apart. This was followed by a short tour of our office to see the consultants in action and meet some of the divisions.
It was a really enlightening day for both the graduates and for us - the feedback we received was glowing and we can’t wait for the next one. We would like to thank all of the graduates who took the time out of their demanding schedules to attend, the day was a huge success and we wish them the best of luck during their final months at University.
