Business Analyst - Trading / Commodities

A leading global energy super-major is currently seeking a Business Analyst with Trading / Commodities experience to be based remotely initially, then out of its prestigious offices in London.

Trading systems implementation experience - in particular ETRM - would be advantageous.

The main remit of the role will be to support the wider business in the of IT projects within its trading division and be the link between the business and IT. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring that business requirements are fed back into the project team and converted into functional specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Gathering business requirements from users via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards and user case scenarios
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria and metrics.
  • Analyse and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility and conformity to standards.
  • Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements
  • To be the link between the company's business functions and the IT department to evaluate their needs


Skill & Experience

  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience
  • Proven track record as a Business Analyst within a trading environment; either commodities or finance focused
  • Experience of working with ETRM applications (Energy Trading and Risk Management) would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of either Endur. Align, Zainet or RightAngle would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Experience of working across the entire project life-cycle
  • Hands-on approach

  • Excellent problem solving skills.
