The details

Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a high-growth, PE-backed SaaS business now entering a new phase of scale and value creation.

The business is seeking a strategic CFO to partner with the CEO and SLT, providing financial leadership, commercial insight, and robust decision support. This role will take full ownership of the finance function, with responsibility for performance reporting, forecasting, cash management, and delivering clear visibility around ARR, ACV, and wider recurring revenue metrics.

The focus of the role is firmly on supporting sustainable growth, improving commercial performance, and strengthening the financial infrastructure of the business. The CFO will play a central role in enhancing controls, improving reporting accuracy and visibility, and ensuring the finance function is structured to support continued growth.

A key priority for the CFO will be developing scalable processes, embedding clear performance metrics, and improving the quality of information provided to the Board and investors. You will be responsible for helping the business better understand and track ARR quality, ACV performance, customer economics, ROI and pricing effectiveness.

Alongside financial stewardship, the CFO will contribute to shaping the strategic and commercial direction of the business, supporting revenue growth, pricing strategy, margin optimisation, and investment appraisal. You will work closely with operational leaders to ensure financial insight translates into effective decision-making.

This opportunity would suit an experienced CFO or Finance Director within a SaaS or technology-enabled business, ideally with strong exposure to ARR-led business models and recurring revenue performance.

Uniquely, the client is also open to considering an ambitious and high-calibre individual looking to step into their first CFO role within a PE-backed environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA)
  • Experience as a CFO/ FD within investor-led SaaS, software, technology, or media businesses
  • Strong understanding of recurring revenue metrics including ARR, ACV, retention, and customer performance
  • Proven ability to scale finance functions and deliver operational improvements within evolving environments
  • Skilled in designing and embedding key performance indicators and reporting frameworks
  • Track record of implementing systems and building scalable processes
  • Strong commercial capability, particularly around sales performance and pricing strategy
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, with the ability to rebuild and enhance Excel-based tables and graphs for clear, impactful presentations

Please understand that due to the expected high number of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly.

We are happy to provide application and/or accessibility support, please contact your Marks Sattin or Grafton consultant directly to discuss your needs.
