The Commercial Finance Business Partner will develop effective cross-functional working relationships to drive the financial, operational and strategic direction. You'll ensure we get the right result for the business. As the Commercial Finance Business Partner you'll drive and facilitate sustainable, cost effective and profitable processes, ensuring that robust controls are in place to maintain integrity of commercial decisions. This is a great opportunity to help shape and contribute as a business partner to the Sales & Marketing Team.

Here are just some of the things you'll be involved in

  • Provide financial support, insight and analysis on key strategic projects as the finance lead.
  • Produce management information within tight timescales, including Board packs, KPIs, dashboards, trackers and forecasts.
  • Provide robust and timely financial reporting and advice to aid strategic decision making and drive best allocation of resources.
  • Review trends and challenge current performance in a fast-moving online retail industry, identifying risks and opportunities within the finance department and the wider business.
  • Support Business Managers in order to ensure the achievement of business plan targets.
  • Provide a support service to other Finance areas and with the wider business through the appraisal and analysis of financial performance and the implementation of best practice.
  • Continuously develop rigorous controls and processes and ensure these are in place to safeguard business assets and maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Liaise with external auditors to provide assurance over approach and methodology with regard to year end processes.
  • Perform analytical modelling to evaluate ROI proposals, critically reviewing and making appropriate recommendations.

What we need from you

We need someone who has a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience with strong commercial awareness, negotiation and problem-solving skills; and comfortable building great relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. We need this along with:

  • Relevant academic or professional qualification, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Experience in a large Retail/FMCG environment is desirable.
  • Experience of cross functional working.
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills with an ability to manipulate complex data sets quickly.
  • Demonstrate an ability to operate in a complex financial reporting environment and provide and lead with innovative financial solutions.
  • Ability to make decisions, prioritise and good attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, in order to effectively engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders at all levels within the Company.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with adaptability and perseverance to ensure any issues are resolved.
