Start your job searchThis boutique venture capital fund, based in Knightsbridge, is looking for a bright newly qualified ACA to join their finance team in a commercial position that takes responsibility for their portfolio companies. This is the ideal position for any ACA harboring ambitions of becoming a commercial FD.
This fund essentially builds businesses from scratch; such is the stage at which they invest. They look at a variety of different industries including financial services, sport & leisure and real estate. With the stage of investment in mind, it paints a clearer picture as to how this role works. You will essentially be a mini FD to the portfolio companies; Liaising with the board of execs, providing ad hoc financial analysis, taking responsibility for all accounting - even the setting up the function in some cases.
There will be considerable crossover with not just the heads of businesses but with the investment team as well, as such the successful candidate must be a strong character and be at ease communicating with professionals from all levels of seniority.
In terms of background, the CFO is completely open, he himself is ex Big 4 but he has had those from smaller practices work in his team who have been incredibly successful. Further to this, he is open to industry discipline; there is no bias towards an FS background - an incredibly rare opportunity.
In summary: If you are a newly qualified ACA and working at a venture capital fund, based in Knightsbridge that invests in exciting businesses across multiple industries, in a commercial finance role appeals, then please do not hesitate in applying
