Leading Media & Publishing Organisation seeking competent Data Protection Advisor. With a focus on UK & EU Law the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across a number of internal teams delivering a complex and robust data privacy & policy whilst advising on all Data Privacy Matters and their application to the Groups Systems, processes & policies. A good eye for detail and a thorough understanding of Data Privacy and Compliance across a fast-paced commercial environment is essential.

Roles and Responsibilities;

  • Providing expert analysis, assistance and Privacy Subject Matter Expertise
  • Continue rolling out the GDPR Implementation across the business division looking into ePrivacy
  • Be the SME and go to contact for any data protection queries, from external or internal customers.
  • Complete SAR's, Privacy Reviews, DPIA's and keep an up to date record of processing activities within the Division.
  • Collaborate and work with the Director of Data Protection to develop UK Privacy function.
  • Run workshops and training sessions fostering a data protection culture across the division in areas such as, Data Subject's rights, Privacy by Design/Default, records/securing of processing, Data Breach Handling
  • Review Legal Contracts, Data Sharing
  • Work & Collaborate with Information Security Team
  • Keep up to date knowledge of Data Privacy Law on a Global Scale (South Africa, Canada, Asia, Russia)

Success Profile;

  • Min 3 years+ experience as Data Protection Manager
  • Understanding of all Data Protection Law including GDPR and ePrivacy
  • Experience maintaining Privacy Compliance programmes
  • Expertise across National & European Laws
  • Demonstrated Leadership and Project Management skills.
  • Pragmatic and a Business Orientated Mind-set.
  • CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP, ISEB Qualifications Desirable
  • Experience as : Data Protection Manager / Data Privacy Manager / Data Protection Officer / Data Protection Associate / Data Privacy Associate / Privacy Officer / Information Governance Manager / Privacy Specialist / Information Compliance Officer / GDPR / Data Privacy Officer / Paralegal / Lawyer / Data Governance / Information Security
