We are thrilled to be working with one of the UK's fastest growing law firms who are looking to hire an experienced Data and Technology Senior/Managing Associate to join their ever expanding and dynamic Commercial Team. This role represents a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the firm and work alongside esteemed partners on a diverse range of challenging and innovative legal matters. You will also have a direct involvement in the future growth of the team. The client is flexible in relation to where the candidate will be based. They will consider candidates living in Bristol, Southampton, Manchester, or anyone open to relocating. This will also be a hybrid working role.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within their Commercial team, working collaboratively with partners on intricate data privacy and technology-related matters.
The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Leading large-scale privacy projects, offering expertise in data protection compliance audits and complex Data Protection Impact Assessments
- Undertaking advisory work on international data transfers and group data processing arrangements
- Providing legal support on transformational technology projects, complex licensing, and emerging technologies
- Drafting and negotiating agreements, including those related to licensing, cloud services, consultancy, support and maintenance, and hardware/software purchasing
- Collaborating with the Corporate Team on M&A transactions, offering specialised support on Data and Tech matters
- Supervising and delegating work to junior lawyers and trainees, ensuring tasks are appropriately assigned for optimal efficiency
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience as a Data and Tech Lawyer, with a strong focus on Data Protection
- Commercial contracts experience and knowledge
- An understanding of M & A transactions and how Data and Tech matters relate
- An ability to manage and supervise junior lawyers effectively
- Exceptional communication skills, with the capacity to build rapport and relationships with client
- A passion for staying up to date on developments in the data protection and emerging technologies space
- A proactive approach, showcasing a positive and pragmatic mindset in finding solutions to meet clients' business needs
You will be a 3 + years PQE England and Wales Qualified Lawyer who qualified within private practice and is a specialist Data Lawyer.
This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced Associate within a Commercial Team working on Data and Tech matters that desires a step up, or a Senior/Managing Associate seeking a change of scenery whereby growth is at the forefront.
