Finance Analyst - Retail experience

A large retail company based in London are seeking a Finance Analyst with experience in Retail to join a growing team on a 3 month contract. The role will start on a 3 month temporary contract basis and be made permanent dependent on performance and growth within the company.

In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of timely and accurate financial analysis, providing insights which drive change in cost behaviour and identifying opportunities to unlock operational efficiencies. Key is the development of strong partnerships with Marketing, Creative Media and Brand Experience functions, utilising strong communication and commercial acumen to provide support and challenge.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish processes for a smooth delivery of the month-end close and liaise with Business Services to ensure that all journal entries and accounting are accurately completed.
  • Lead the overall month end process across the IT Finance team, ensuring request and deadlines are clear among the BBS, Finance IT and business partners (PM, Tower owners, PMO)
  • Prepare and review P&Ls and all financial reporting to ensure accuracy and presentation in line with business requirements (actuals, forecast, budget) for specific IT Towers.
  • Provide the functions supported with strong budget management through the planning process. Special focus on the Portfolio demand and phasing of project spend and delivery.
  • Complete, Coordinate, review and evaluate the development of plans, budgets & forecasts across IT towers (both regional and corporate cost), ensuring the most profitable allocation of resources through financial insights & constructive challenge.
  • Champion the management of key suppliers (Verizon, AWS, HEC) by ensuring the operation teams perform the required task on time.
  • Supports the continuous improvement of planning, budgeting including rolling forecast.
  • Aggregate analysis and feedback to share with the management and corporate teams
  • SAP, BOSS Reporting
  • Advanced Excel Skills
  • SAP, BW reporting
  • Ability to communicate with and influence a wide range of personalities
  • ACCA or CIMA studier
  • Proven track record of delivering change and driving improvements.
  • Proven experience in retail or related industry
