Our client is looking for a Finance Controller who has a mix of managenent and financial accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. you wil lead a team of seven and report directly to the Finance Director.
The incumbent will manage an established team of seven, comprising one Stock Controller, two Management Accountants, two ledger controllers and two clerks - however the role is much wider in scope than pure finance and accounting, and adds significantly more value than this to the business.
Overview:
- Preparation of Monthly Management accounts to a tight deadline, and subsequent reporting and variance analysis
- Preparation of bi-annual Business Operating Plans, coordinating inputs from all other departments in the business
- Completion of annual Statutory Accounts pack and liaison with external auditors
- Preparation of ad-hoc forecasts and estimates
- Preparation of detailed business feasibility studies, often with several iterations, for new projects and ventures as and when they arise (typically one every 18 months) to support significant investments
- Supervision of and responsibility for weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
Experience required:
- Commercially minded and hands-on, with focus on adding value to the business in all areas, not just finance
- Strong people-person, capable of communicating at all levels with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience gained in a manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent spreadsheet skills
- Strong system skills
