Fantastic Financial Accountant role with a leading FTSE banking group, ideal for a Newly Qualified Accountant looking for their first move out of practice.

Sitting in the Asset Finance division, the role will support the Finance Manager with monthly controls and work closely with the wider finance team including FP&A and Operational Finance.

The role is split into key responsibilities including Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Risk & Compliance and Ad hoc responsibilities.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare all monthly deliverables ensuring these are completed to high standards and within deadlines
  • Perform analysis to understand monthly business performance and prepare commentary on key monthly variances for the financial statements including income, funding charges and costs
  • Prepare and review the Interim and Year-end Financial Reporting Packs as requested by Group Finance
  • Prepare statutory accounts
  • Implement checks and controls, including cross-checks between returns
  • Drive detailed analytical review on submission of reports to highlight variances and correlations to management.
  • Support other stakeholders within the business such as Operational Finance, FP&A and Credit teams

Essential skills and experience:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people and technology challenges to identify issues and opportunities
  • Ability to link business activities to financial control
