Start your job searchMarks Sattin have been engaged by one of the UK's largest commodities mining and trading companies to acquire a Financial Controller on a 6 month contract basis.
This is a diverse project management and accounting for a business in a wind down process.
The Financial Controller will be an integral part of the firm's finance team focused on managing all aspects of the finance function as well as managing various simultaneous projects and dealing with transferring employees at all levels including senior management.
The successful candidate will directly manage two Financial Controller staff and several projects.
The role sits within a small team in London and the scope includes working in a multi-jurisdictional Group requiring you to deal with diverse challenges on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities :
- Management of two exsisting Financial Controllers, one in London and one in Singapore for sale completion requirements ensuring financial reporting integrity is maintained.
- Preparing monthly reporting into Group within required deadlines for each entity.
- Responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the wind down Group companies
- Liaising with transferring employees at the Wind Down Group, the companies dept. and the acquiring Group when required.
- Responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the Wind Down Group companies post completion.
- Management of external audits including tax.
- Adherence to TSA requirements including preparing consolidated financial statements and monthly reports
Experience and Qualifications:
- ACA qualified with 5 years post qualified experience in a Financial Controller type role
- Strong technical accounting background
- HFM or Hyperion systems experience
- Navision or similar accounting software experience
- Commercial acumen relating to financial analysis
- Experience of Audit Articles at one of the Big 4
- Worked on a wind down process previously - preferential
