Great opportunity for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join the financial shared services team in Cork- this role is with a well respected multinational BioPharma company for a period of 6 months.

The Strategic Objective of Financial Shared Services (FSS) is to provide value adding financial services in an efficient and effective model that supports the company's growth and enables the companies business partners to deliver their strategic imperatives.

More about the position:

This role reports to the RTR Senior Manager and will be responsible for the General Ledger accounting for one or more entities within the organisation. It will give the successful candidate and opportunity to gain experience in different financial markets.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Maintaining ledger integrity and ensuring financial compliance with the worldwide Controller's manual and to all applicable laws and regulations
  • Ensure financial records are in compliance with GAAP. Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies and procedures including Worldwide Controller's manual
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month-end close and accounting transactions; P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation and resolution
  • Responsible for the accounting and reporting requirements under U.S. and local GAAP
  • Assist market finance team with technical accounting issues relating to leasing and other statutory accounting queries

The successful candidate will be:

  • A Qualified Accountant with a fundamental understanding of what it takes to operate within a multi-country RTR environment in a multi-national corporation.
  • Ideally have RTR experience in a similar organization operating in several major countries in Europe, with exposure to the United States and in depth knowledge of general accounting policies and procedures in particular Tax and US GAAP as well as knowledge of local European country statutory and tax reporting requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, and Word) required.
  • Experience a Shared Service Center in a multi-country corporate environment is an advantage.
