Highly successful boutique Fund Manager seeks an experienced Fund Accountant with a background in hedge funds, distrssed debt or credit. This newly created role will join a small but growing finance team in a pivotal role linked to a recently closed fund that invests in a wide array of debt products across fixed income markets. A real end to end role suited to someone who enjoys daily challenges and developing a sense of ownership for what they do.
Key responsibilities will involve booking trades and closing off on month end numbers; reviewing/analysing investment activities on a monthly basis to verify that all cash flows, restructuring, redemptions and accruals have been accounted for accurately; monthly ad hoc management reporting; reconciliation of investment positions and cash flows with independent verification sources; liaising with Auditors over interim and year end reporting; a host of other ad hoc projects as required. The fund trades at a decent volume providing plenty of variety and opportunity to develop your skills and accounting knowledge in a fast-paced operating environment.
In terms of background and experience, we're looking for ideally a qualified accountant - ACA, CA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA or equivalent - with similar experience gained in a Fund Manager or Hedge Fund. Exposure to debt products and instruments - loan notes or secondary debt trades - is essential as we need someone who can hit the ground running. There is masses of potential in this role to grow and gain further responsibility as the company continues to push heavily in the UK/European market and ideally suited to an aspiring and ambitious individual. Drive, strong attention to detail and an enthusiastic personality will also go a long way!
