A £100m+ turnover multi-site services business is seeking an experienced Interim Divisional Financial Controller to support a major finance transformation programme while maintaining ownership of the divisional P&L and Balance Sheet. This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with the Divisional Finance Director to help deliver a significant change agenda across a complex operational environment.
The Opportunity
Joining during a period of significant transformation, you will take responsibility for the integrity of financial reporting, month-end close, balance sheet control and divisional performance management, while helping implement process and technology improvements across the finance function. A key objective of the role is to create capacity for the Finance Director to focus on strategic commercial partnering.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the divisional P&L and Balance Sheet.
- Lead month-end close, reporting and financial controls.
- Support year-end and audit processes.
- Drive finance transformation initiatives and process improvements.
- Ensure strong governance, compliance and financial control.
- Manage revenue recognition, WIP and accrual accounting within a high-volume service-led environment.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across finance and operations.
- Lead and develop members of the finance team through a period of change.
- Implement sustainable solutions rather than short-term workarounds.
About You
We're looking for a proven interim finance leader who has successfully delivered change and transformation programmes before. You will be:
- Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Technically strong with excellent financial control experience.
- Experienced in large, complex service-based businesses.
- Comfortable working with revenue recognition, accruals and IFRS 15 principles.
- Commercially aware and able to translate financial information into business actions.
- Energetic, pragmatic and delivery-focused.
- Confident influencing stakeholders at Finance Director, CFO and operational leadership level. Able to quickly assess existing processes and drive meaningful improvements.

This assignment would suit an established interim who enjoys combining strong financial control with business transformation and change leadership, rather than someone making their first move into interim contracting.
