Marks Sattin are currently working with a very well-respected boutique investment management business in West Yorkshire who are looking to recruit an interim Investment Manager for a new fund they have recently secured which will be specifically used for deals acquisition opportunities across the North of England.

The role is initially on a six month basis with a plan for this to develop into a permanent role once the first few deals in the portfolio have been secured. Also given the nature of the role it will most likely be a remote working position as location isn't the important factor but getting the right individual who can help grow the business is paramount.

This position will be a front office position which will work very closely with the Investment Director and Partners across the North of England with the main focus being deal origin, BD and investment analysis. This a very strategic and commercial finance position that will require significant interaction with management teams, directors and shareholders for small to medium sized businesses across all sectors.

Key responsibilities being:

  • Proactively work on the analysis and due diligence for potential investments across the group structure (North of England focus)
  • Take ownership over the execution and negotiation of potential investments
  • Prepare investment committee papers/reports and take part in the internal discussion
  • Business development and a key focus on future investment and deal opportunities
  • Manage key stakeholders in the transaction process (legal, auditors, tax, deal advisory)
  • Co-ordinate portfolio management responsibilities - strategic and operational
  • Build financial models for banking, cash-flow and working capital scenarios

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified with a practice background in audit but more recently have experience working in either restructuring or transaction services. You must have strong communication and excel skills, preferably financial modelling, investment appraisal and scenario modelling capability.
