Operational Risk - Senior Consultant

My client, a global consulting firm based in Dublin City Centre, is looking for experienced candidates to join their growing Risk Advisory Team. This position is ideal for candidates from industry with risk expertise exploring an opportunity in consulting. This position is also ideal for candidates within an audit practice looking to leverage their risk and control knowledge in order to develop consulting skills.

Their growing Risk Advisory team of over 200 people is a leading provider of Risk Services in Ireland and brings together a wide range of services in Operational, Cyber, Financial and Regulatory Risk. Due to the continued success and growth of their Operational Risk team, they are looking to recruit individuals at Senior Consultant level to join their expanding team in Dublin. They will provide a challenging and exciting work environment, interesting and varied projects, scope for personal development and on-going training.

Job Description The Operational Risk team currently work on a diverse range of projects with clients primarily in the Financial Services sector and expanding to other sectors. Your role as a Senior Consultant will focus on the delivery of client engagements, as well as business and practice development. In this role, you will work as part of high-performing people teams, leading and supporting the members to make an impact that matters and delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

    • Delivery of engagements related to the development and implementation of operational risk frameworks and associated processes
    • Through the completion and review work assess deficiencies and opportunities to enhance our clients operational risk environment identified and identify any additional points based on your experience
    • Preparation and review of high quality planning and reporting deliverables for review by internal management and subsequently for issue to clients
    • Presentation of results of engagements to clients' Senior Management and by accompanying Partners to present the results of our work at client meetings
    • Contributing to the development of your own, and the team's, technical acumen through continuous coaching, mentoring and leading of your team whilst on engagements
    • Effective communication with client personnel, as well as team members and management team
    • Completion of business and practice development activities such as responding to requests for tenders and identifying and pursuing relevant business opportunities
    • Taking a leading role in internal department initiatives such as training, business development activities, coaching, engagement scheduling and graduate recruitment.

Essential Skills

  • You will have a minimum of two to three years' experience in either an operational risk or enterprise risk management role
  • Minimum 2.1 honours degree
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk Frameworks and associated processes, including but not limited to; Risk and Control Self Assessments; Risk Events; Scenario Planning; Second Line Assurance; Operational Risk Appetite; and Key Risk Indicators
  • Knowledge of technical concepts and relevant industry standards e.g. Basel Principles of Operational Risk, COSO Enterprise Risk Framework
  • Motivated self-starter with ambition to continue progressing successfully your career
  • Business acumen and insight to be an effective business advisor to clients
  • Experience managing and leading teams effectively
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence

Desirable Skills

  • Experience presenting to Senior Management teams
  • An ACA, ACCA, CIIA or other or relevant qualification
  • Knowledge and use of Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems and solutions
