Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)
Contract: 3 months
Rate: £340 - £440 per day (Inside IR35)
I am looking for an experienced SAS Engineer to support the migration of SAS data and metadata objects from an on-premises environment to GCP. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Base SAS, SAS DI, and SAS Macros, with a solid understanding of data warehousing and SQL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Migrate SAS data (Base SAS, SPDS) and SAS metadata objects (DI Jobs, SAS Flows, etc.) from On-Prem to GCP.
- Validate flow outputs through data, log, and performance comparison.
- Troubleshoot data issues, SAS code (Base SAS & Macros), DI Jobs, and SAS Flows.
- Ensure smooth handling of encoding changes (WLatin to UTF8) during migration.
- Work with large-scale data (GBs & TBs), identifying efficient ways to migrate vast datasets.
- Utilize strong SQL skills, especially within Proc SQL in SAS and DI Jobs.
- Leverage basic Unix/Linux knowledge for troubleshooting and operational tasks.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in SAS data migration projects.
- Strong SQL skills, particularly within SAS Proc SQL and DI Jobs.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing and database fundamentals.
- Experience handling character encoding challenges (WLatin to UTF8) in SAS.
- Hands-on experience working with large datasets (GBs/TBs).
- Basic Unix/Linux knowledge to assist in operational tasks.
