Marks Sattin have partnered with one of London's most exciting and fast growing (POS) Point of Sale FinTech start ups.

On the back of a second multimillion pound investment round, this FinTech are looking to add to their already experienced and high preforming Engineering team.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and VP of Engineering, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer that can be the subject matter of the Backend Development and orgnically have a team created around them!

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience working as a Backend Software Engineer programming with Java/Kotlin.

This position will give you the exciting opportunity to work closely with the experienced C-level officers from the likes of Google, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs!

What your day will involve

• Becoming a key contributor in the dynamic and tightly-knit engineering team.
• Involving yourself across all modules of the core systems: backend systems, APIs, and the tools/technologies that keep everything humming.
• Collaborating with product team to cultivate secure and efficient platform services.
• Coding with Vert.x, JAX-RS, Kotlin, PL/pgSQL, configuring GraphQL endpoints via PostGraphile and deploying in Docker containers.
• Striving to improve the platform with high quality code and great testing.
• Engaging in sprint planning with the product team, committing to timely execution of features, and prioritising within sprints where necessary.
• Collaborating with senior members of staff and the business development team to demonstrate test builds of a given feature.

You should apply if

• You have plenty of strong, relevant software engineering experience.
• You have experience in and love programming in Java/Kotlin/PL/pgSQL.
• You enjoy supporting front-end teams in connecting application features to mid-layer and backend services via REST/GraphQL.

The platform provides REST services and is built using GraphQL, Kotlin, PostgreSQL, PostGraphile, Docker and Kubernetes.
