VAT Tax Accountant / Leeds- Hybrid / DOE + Excellent Benefits
Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with a well-known UK business to recruit a TaxnAccountant to join their Group Finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Tax professional to take on a broad and varied role within a friendly, collaborative team. The position will suit someone with strong VAT experience who also enjoys exposure across wider tax areas, including corporation tax, employment taxes, and process improvement initiatives.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the Group meets all its UK and European tax obligations, with particular focus on VAT compliance and reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing VAT returns across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Acting as a key contact for third-party VAT compliance advisors.
- Performing monthly VAT reconciliations and maintaining internal control checks.
- Resolving VAT queries and identifying opportunities to improve compliance and efficiency.
- Supporting corporation tax computations
Essential:
- Experience in UK and European VAT compliance, gained in practice or industry.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience preparing corporation tax returns.
- Awareness of employment tax principles.
