VAT Specialist | Leeds - Hybrid | £50,000 + Excellent Benefits

We are working with a highly regarded, long-established financial services organisation in Leeds to recruit a VAT Specialist into its Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong VAT compliance and reporting experience who wants a role where they can have a genuine impact.

The Role:

Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider business, you will be responsible for the firm's VAT compliance and reporting requirements while providing technical guidance on indirect tax matters. Alongside the day-to-day responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to review how VAT is currently managed, identify improvements and contribute to wider projects across the organisation.

Day to Day Includes:

• Taking ownership of VAT reporting and compliance across the business.
• Preparing, reviewing and submitting VAT returns.
• Providing technical guidance on VAT matters to stakeholders across the firm.
• Reviewing existing VAT processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and controls.
• Identifying and managing potential VAT risks across the organisation.
• Keeping up to date with changes in VAT legislation and assessing their potential impact on the business.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience across UK VAT compliance
• Good technical understanding of UK VAT legislation and processes.
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong risk and controls mindset.
• Confident communicating technical VAT matters to stakeholders at different levels.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team.
