Start your job searchMarks Sattin are exclusively recruiting for a manufacturing business based in Wythenshawe who are looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant on a temporary basis.
This role would be the ideal opportunity for an immediately available individual looking for a varied role within an autonomous environment.
Duties:
- Update & Maintain all cash books and Post Sales Ledger Cash
- Verification of Intercompany payments
- Verify and analyse & post staff expenses
- Deal with any payment queries as arise
- Reconciliation, control and payment of agent commissions
- Maintain cash flows for all bank accounts on both companies
- Assist with stock data on both companies
- Preparation of various provisions for sister company
- Analysis of Month end and Year end work
- Analyse nominal ledger accounts for tax purposes
- Assist with checking ledgers for misposting
- Assist with Month End Closing of ledgers to Groups timetable
- Allocate & clear Sales & Purchase ledger accounts for open items
- Participate in 5S/Lean within the Department and throughout the Site
- Liaise with Company & Group personnel to maximise duties and responsibilities
- Deal with external bodies with queries in connection with normal duties e.g auditors, government departments etc
- Undertake and demonstrate a commitment to smarter working practices and continued learning
Person Specification:
- Minimum 3yrs experience of working in an accounts department;
- Qualifications to GCSE level C minimum, including English and Maths;
- Knowledge of accounting systems including SAP
- Good attention to detail
- Intermediate excel skills
- a good telephone manner
- good numeracy skills
- ability to work unsupervised
