Start your job searchOur client is an interesting organisation working in the Energy sector giving the successful candidate an opportunity to gain significant accounting experience in this growing and diverse organisation.
The Assistant Financial Accountant will assist with the day-to-day operation of the finance function as well as preparation, review and analysis of historical, current and forecast management accounting information.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the key responsibilities and duties will include: -
- Posting creditor invoices to the system and creating sales invoices
- Recording all bank transactions and processing bank reconciliations
- Reconciling creditors and debtors accounts
- Preparation, with Financial Accountant and Business Analyst assistance, of monthly reports
- Analysis and reporting of variances between the actual results and budgeted values
- Group reporting activities
- Assisting with the op-ex budget preparation and forecasting
- Weekly payments and receipts analysis
- Forecasting of the following week's payments and receipts
- Treasury activities to include maintenance of bank accounts, weekly payment runs
- Assisting with the preparation of the annual Financial Statements
Background
- Experience of working in a similar position for at least 1-2 years (essential)
- Working knowledge of SAGE Accounting software (essential)
- Competent with Microsoft Excel and Word (essential)
Behaviours - Part qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (essential)
