The details
This vacancy has now expired.
Start your job searchDue to the fluid nature of this organisation, the role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to expand their experience and skill-set in to areas of accounting that they may not have previously had the chance to, but the primary focus of the role will be the completion of management accounts with further ad-hoc client duties making up the remainder(e.g. outsourced commercial/financial analysis etc). Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role, and experience in the following duties:
Production and filing of UK statutory accounts.
Production of draft corporate tax returns to support the statutory accounts.
An understanding of when to post year-end journals to support the statutory accounts production.
A firm understanding of balance sheet reconciliations.
An understanding of basic corporate tax issues.
Self-review of work prior to manager review.
Filing of client forms at Companies House as required including Annual Returns, Allotment of shares, Accounting reference date changes, etc.
The chosen individual will be newly-qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or a finalist, and will have a strong working knowledge of UKGAAP/FRS102 (and preferably IFRS). Experience of using VT accounts or Iris is a must, and a genuine interest in the technology industry would be advantageous. The office is an outgoing and sociable environment and doesn't conform to what would often be considered "the norm" for accountancy practices; to the right person this will be seen as a huge plus point.
