Start your job searchMarks Sattin have been engaged by growing manufacturer based in the South West with exceptional growth plans over the next 5 years, to recruit a newly created Capex Buyer role.
This is an incredible opportunity to support a greenfield project with responsibility of the end-to-end procurement process. The Capex Buyer will be responsible for sourcing specialist machinery in order to deliver a world class manufacturing operation for a purpose-built site.
The Capex Buyer will be predominantly home based with regular travel across the South West and Midlands.
The Capex Buyer role
Key responsibilities include;
- Lead and manage the RFI, RFQ, Cost Comparison, Zero based costing, Negotiation & awarding process
- Work closely with teams throughout the business to understand requirements and established processes including Project leaders, Regional/Country offices, Legal and Finance teams
- Carry out the end-to-end procurement process for capital good including machinery, spares, consumables and Services
- Conduct market research to identify, qualify and onboard reliable suppliers
- Evaluate suppliers' capabilities, quality, pricing and service levels to ensure optimal value
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies and capex category plans
- Identify and mitigate any risk to the supply chain
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts
About your experience
- Proven trackrecord in indirect procurement with demonstrable experience of sourcing Capex
- Sound understanding of contract management, including an understanding of legal requirements
- Demonstrable track record in end-to-end procurement
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong negotiation skills
- High proficiency in ERP, ideally SAP
