Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a Well-Established PE-Backed B2B Infrastructure business in their search for a Strategic and Commercial CFO. This individual will assume hands-on, decisive leadership, as the business undergoes a significant period of growth and transformation, with the ultimate goal of guiding the business through a successful sale in the foreseeable future.

With overall responsibility for the delivery of strategic and operational finance and accounting, the CFO will spearhead the commercialisation of the finance function, via the overhaul and improvement of systems and financial processes to achieve optimised profit, margin improvement, and business commercialisation. The CFO will also lead and manage a compact yet robust finance team.

Working closely with the Executive team, you will play a key role in devising and executing strategies to propel rapid improvement within the business. In addition to playing an instrumental role in developing and executing strategies to drive rapid improvement within the business. They will provide valuable contributions to executive-level strategy by delivering detailed and insightful performance analysis, forecasting, and reporting.

Moreover, the role involves actively cultivating and expanding strong external relationships with banks, debtors, creditors, and other stakeholders through hands-on engagement.

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA), preferably Chartered with a demonstrated track record operating at board level and serving as a CFO, particularly in transformation environment, Ideally delivering successful growth and a sale process
  • Background in a PE-Backed businesses within the Industrial Services and/or related sectors is highly desirable but not essential
  • Proven experience in overseeing day-to-day operational finance, and a genuine enthusiasm for contributing to both commercial and financial growth.
  • Proficiency in managing relationships with bank debtors and creditor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships
  • Capable of collaborating with the executive team to steer the strategic trajectory of the business.
