Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a dynamic, PE-backed construction services business in search for an ambitious CFO. This individual will be instrumental in preparing the business for a successful sale, while also shaping the strategic direction to ensure sustainable growth and value creation beyond the exit.

As CFO, you will assume full responsibility for the finance function, implementing the systems, processes, and controls necessary to propel the business into its next phase of growth. Working alongside the CEO, you will develop, execute, and evaluate the business's overarching strategy. Furthermore, you will serve as a key contributor to executive-level decision-making by delivering incisive performance analysis, rigorous forecasting, and insightful reporting.

The ideal candidate will be adept at establishing comprehensive systems, controls, KPIs, and dashboards, while ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of board packs to support the business's strategic ambitions.

In addition to looking for an experienced CFO, this client would uniquely consider candidates making their first move into an autonomous PE-backed CFO role, such as Divisional Finance Directors, Heads of Finance, or Financial Controllers.

The ideal Candidate

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA), preferably Chartered.
• Experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Finance Director, seeking to step into a CFO role within a growing PE-backed business.
• Proven expertise in managing daily finance operations within a scaling business.
• Demonstrated success in leading transactions through to a potential sale.
• Track record of implementing robust financial systems, processes, and controls.
• Strong communication skills paired with exceptional commercial acumen.
