A leading National wholesale business in is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer with experience in transformation. The business is well established and their brand is well recognized throughout the market. Operating all across the UK the business is growing fast and looking to potentially expand into other international markets. With a history of continuously acquiring new brands, the business is looking to significantly increase in size and successful go through an exit in the future.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead a finance team
- Take control over statutory financial reporting and day to day relationships with auditors and banks.
- Establish appropriate KPIs and monitor those targets.
- Take responsibility for budget preparation, monitoring performance and addressing the issues where relevant.
- Foreign currency management
- Control of inventory level, warehousing costs in the UK and internationally, and stock valuation.
- Tighten up controls, assess data robustness, and be able to retrieve accurate up-to-date data at short notice.
- To act as a leader, with commercial acumen, to set up and lead weekly/monthly meetings with management.
- To understand IT systems to assess whether they can cope with business demands, future proof the system, budget for the costs and monitor spending on IT.
The ideal candidate would be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA), who has worked in a founder/owner managed business that has taken a business through a transformation and international expansion. Experience with taking a business through a successful exit would not be essential, but advantageous.
