Travel required: Based in North Yorkshire but weekday travel once a week is required
Salary: £50-60k
A booming and well capitalised growing business have a newly created opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join their busy team.
The role will report into the Head of Finance and work closely with the Managing Director. The successful individual will be responsible for day to day financial activities of a key division within the business.
The role will be required to provide the executive team with detailed insight into the financial performance of the business as well as risks and opportunities.
Primary responsibility
- Deliver robust and accurate monthly management accounts and associated analysis to support the management team, including clear variance reports and risk analysis supported by commentary
- Drive a culture of maximizing site profitability within the business, providing challenge on sales prices and costs
- Ensure that full site life reviews are undertaken on a monthly basis to ensure accurate blended margin profit recognition
- Work with management team to develop a 5 year business plan, with regular updated periodic forecasts
- Responsible for preparing rolling weekly and monthly cash forecasting, understand and improve the working capital cycle, enhancing cash balance.
- Ensure the business maintains proper liquidity and raise risks to CFO and Exec
- Support the Group FC to ensure all stat returns and prepared accurately and properly filed
Key requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years PQE
- Degree is preferred but is not essential
- Experience in the property or construction industry is essential
- Experience of financial reporting at executive / board level
- A strong, technical Accountant
- High level of commercial acumen
- Strong analytical skill set, including knowledge of BI and reporting tools
- Ability to work under pressure
- Communicates clearly and concisely
