Key Responsibilities of this role are:

• Ensuring control in maintained over the financial data
• Ensuring all ledgers are maintained taking full responsibility for sales and purchase ledger
• Maintenance of the online banking system and ensuring accuracy of all payments
• Responsible for all payroll and working with HMRC
• Day to day responsibility of the finance department and controlling petty cash and expenses
• Timely and accurate submission of VAT return
• Monthly management accounts alongside the Head of Finance
• Implementation of internal controls
• Working with the factory, planning studying and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, labour costs etc.
• Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
• Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability
• Maintaining cost accounting system
• Other ad hoc duties

The person:

This job as Finance Manager will suit a part qualified accountant or someone qualified by experience who is ambitious and willing to learn but is also used to working autonomously and can make effective decisions. They must be able to build relationships with non-finance individuals and be able to work and succeed under pressure, offering solutions instead of problems.
