Start your job searchA leading FMCG (Drinks & Spirits distributor) is currently seeking a Financial Controller to join their business.
Due to company growth, this is a newly created position reporting into the Head of Finance. This role will have ownership of the monthly management accounts, ensure accuracy of financial information and maintain the wider control environment. There will also be the opportunity to improve and modernise both the processes and procedures of the finance team.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and provide insights to drive business decisions
- Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory management
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payment and collection of invoices
- Manage cash flow forecasting, ensuring adequate liquidity and minimizing debt
- Identify areas for cost savings and implement process improvements to drive efficiency gains
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with suppliers
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, laws, and regulations
- Manage external auditors during annual audits
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory bodies
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with post-qualified experience within a Senior Accountant or Finance Manager position. Ideally, experience working for a consumer being (FMCG, Retail or Hospitality) would be extremely desirable.
