This global private equity firm is looking for a qualified ACA (or equivalent) with at least 2 years Fund Accounting experience to join their Fund and Performance team.
The role is split 50/50 between fund operations/accounting and analytical work with the Portfolio Management and IR team as well as some ad-hoc project work. It's a great opportunity for a Fund Accountant who is interested in a more commercial role.
The fund accounting duties involve reviewing the fund administrator's work as well as some management company reporting and compliance (as expected). The performance work will involve partnering with the Portfolio Management and Investor Relations team to analyse the performance (for lack of a better word) of both the funds and their underlying investments. It's an incredibly broad position.
The Fund Finance team is 8 strong with only one other currently in a similar duel focussed role; the others focus purely on fund accounting and operations. The team are 10 strong and all, including this position, report into the Head of Fund Finance - it's a flat structure. The Head of Fund Finance is great and keen to coach, mentor and manage as much or as little as needed; they have created a flexible and sociable working environment - we've previously placed 3 people in the team.
The company itself, as mentioned, is a global business with head office in the US. The London office is however the HQ for Europe and with only 150 people has the benefit of a boutique culture but with the name and prestige of a large, leading fund manager.
The nature of the performance work means that further to prior Fund Accounting experience, a high level of proficiency in excel is needed also. Other than that, just an ACA qualification and at least 2 years asset management (private equity, credit, real estate, hedge fund) experience is needed.
Remuneration is flexible and dependant on experience with a very competitive discretionary bonus and cash benefit allowance.
It's a fantastic opportunity and if it appeals, please do not hesitate to apply. The full job spec with further technical information on the day to day duties will be shared with all relevant applicants.
