Head of Finance

East Midlands | High‑Growth Transport & Logistics Group

A rapidly scaling B2B services business in the Transport & Logistics sector is hiring a Head of Finance to partner with the Group CFO and lead the Finance function through an exciting growth and transformation phase. The Company is privately owned, part of an acquisitive Group, and targeting a strategic exit within five years.

The Role

A hands‑on, high‑impact leadership role where you will:

• Act as the CFO's key partner and senior Finance lead

• Own all core Finance activities: A/R, A/P, Accounting, Payroll, Controls, Reporting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Risk

• Build, mentor and develop the Finance team

• Drive Finance transformation across people, processes and systems

• Embed best practice across O2C, P2P and R2R

• Provide commercial insight and strategic support to the Board

About You

• Degree educated + UK accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

• Trained in a reputable audit firm or large corporate

• Experience in growth‑stage SMEs/scale‑ups, ideally through M&A, integration or exit prep

• Strong audit grounding

• ERP implementation experience in Wholesale, Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics or Field Engineering

• Proven ability to build teams and improve Finance processes

• Transaction exposure and SaaS familiarity beneficial
