Group Reporting Accountant

Our reputable client in the mining industry is looking for a new Group Reporting Accountant position within their growing finance team. This is a broad position where you will be getting involved in a range of responsibilities across finance and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with operations and projects to understand performance and identify improvements.

  • Prepare technical accounting papers and contribute to audit committee reporting.

  • Support external reporting, including quarterly releases, MD&A, and financial statements.

  • Produce monthly Group consolidations with analysis and insights.

  • Coordinate consolidated forecasts and budgets with operations and corporate teams.

  • Ensure correct accounting for major Group transactions (acquisitions, disposals, impairments, financing).

  • Improve Group consolidation and reporting processes.

  • Manage auditor relationships and ensure smooth audit procedures.

  • Travel occasionally (1-2 times per year) for site visits to mines across the globe.

  • Aditional ad-hoc duties and responsiblities

The ideal candidate will be ACA qualified with at least 1-2 years of post qualified experience. Experience working for a top 6 accounting firm, as well as exposure to FTSE-listed clients will also be needed, along with strong academics and high work ethic. Group accounting exposure will be ideal and strong systems experience, including excel. This is a broad position offering opportunity to partner with different teams across the globe, therefore a high level of stakeholder engagement is necessary.
