A global professional services firm is looking to hire a software integration specialist to be based out of its prestigious offices in Reading.
The main remit of the role will be to work across the Technology Consulting and Technology Support Service functions to facilitate the on-boarding of new and existing clients by planning, executing and managing the integration of new processes and applications into their existing systems.
Responsibilities
- Under direction, to conduct IT reviews and assessments of internal and client IT systems and software
- Draft and present reports on the findings, conclusions and recommendations of IT reviews
- Conduct and/or lead hands-on IT projects on behalf of clients
- Carry out third-line support tasks
- Recommend and draft or participate in the drafting of information technology and user support policies and procedures
- Maintain a broad knowledge of the systems used by the supported client base and an understanding of the client's needs to guide and assist the support the team with supporting them
- Proactively analysing, identifying and remedying potential issues with software
- Keep a track on integration projects and ensure that they meet business requirements and goals
- Work with the analysts, system designers, and business owners to lead in the integration testing phase
Skills and Experience
- Hands on knowledge of databases including SQL and/or Oracle is essential
- Experience of stored procedures
- Knowledge of scripting or other software development experience is desirable
- Significant integration and software implementation experience.
- An application integration specialist with excellent analytical and research skills.
- Capable of writing about technical matters in business English and of producing structured reports on findings, conclusions and recommendations.
- A person who has ample knowledge of the upgrading technologies.
- An expert in working with database and system administration teams, assisting with perform system development plans, resolve problems related to integration and system deliverables.
- Able to travel around the UK (15%) and potentially abroad on business to meet clients and conduct fieldwork. Trips may occasionally require nights away from home although most clients are based in London or Reading
