Interim Financial Accountant / Year-End Accountant

The details
Marks Sattin are working in partnership with a reputable manufacturing organisation in Birmingham to recruit an Interim Financial Accountant to support my client through their Year End process.
The role is expected to last a minimum of 3 months, however an extension is possible to support the improvement of processes across finance. The interim must be within a commutable distance as the role will initially require 5 days per week on-site to pick the role up as quickly as possible. Once the role has been picked up, my client will consider a hybrid working pattern.
The Interim Financial Accountant will support the Financial Controller and contribute to the year-end processes and ensure the accurate and timely completion of financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare year-end financial statements and reports.
- Conduct thorough reviews and reconciliations of financial accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS.
- Analyse financial data to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Highlighting areas for improvements or action and assisting the Financial Controller with remediations.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a similar year-end accounting role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Available at short notice.
- Within a commutable distance to my client's offices in Birmingham.
