Interim Legal Counsel - North West Hub

The Role
As Interim Legal Counsel, you will temporarily step into the role of General Counsel for the Northwest Hub. You will provide strategic legal support across the Benelux and Nordic markets, with a primary focus on the Dutch and Belgian business. You'll work closely with an experienced in-house counsel and serve as a legal sparring partner to key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide senior-level legal advice on commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Lead on high-risk legal issues, including strategic deals, litigation, and governance.
- Supervise and support a senior legal counsel, ensuring stability and continuity.
- Manage ongoing court cases in collaboration with external counsel.
- Guide contract negotiations and ensure alignment with global legal policies.
- Support leadership engagement and decision-making across the NW Hub.
- Advise on Dutch pricing regulations, healthcare law, and insurance frameworks.
- Ensure availability during the year-end period (excluding holidays).
What We're Looking For
- Qualified lawyer or Legal Counsel with Dutch law experience preferred; strong EU legal backgrounds also considered.
- Master's degree within Law
- 10+ years of post-qualified experience in a law firm or in-house legal role (pharma/life sciences experience is a strong plus).
- Deep understanding of Dutch healthcare regulations, pricing, and insurance systems.
- Proven ability to operate in international, matrixed environments.
- Fluent in Dutch and English; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently.
- Available from late September or early October 2025 through January 2026.
- Minimum 36 hours/week (32 possible for exceptional candidates); 4.5 or 5-day workweek preferred.
